Allegiant Care is pleased to announce a dental vendor change that will take effect on January 1, 2026. This decision was made after careful consideration of what would best serve our members.
Dental Vendor Changes
Your dental benefits will transition to Northeast Delta Dental (“Delta Dental”) on January 1, 2026. This is a change that will apply to all groups whose dental benefits are currently administered directly by Allegiant Care.
This change is designed to better protect you from unexpected costs. Before, you could see any dentist, but providers who charge above the average could bill you for the difference (“balance billing”). With Delta Dental’s large network, participating dentists accept contracted rates and cannot balance bill, which should reduce your out-of-pocket costs, while your overall coverage remains very similar. Key differences under Delta Dental:
- Provider network – Starting in 2026, you’ll receive your best benefit using Delta Dental’s provider network. While you may still see any dentist, in-network providers generally mean lower costs. Based on past claims, about 85% of the dentists that members visited in the last year are in Delta’s network, so disruption should be limited. (see the mobile app instruction below)
- Annual maximum – Instead of separate category limits, Delta Dental uses a single annual maximum. This is paired with the Double-Up Max feature, which can increase the amount available to you each year.
What to Expect Next
In December, you will receive updated plan documents and new ID cards reflecting these changes. Please look for this mailing and use your new cards for dental services on or after January 1, 2026. In the meantime, if you have questions, please reach out to Allegiant Care Member Services at 1-800-258-9732 or memberservices@myallegiantcare.com.
